Shelf talkers are the unsung heroes of the POS (point of sale) world. They are seen in their millions in supermarkets around the country, due mainly to their low cost, ease of assembly and ease of display.

At their simplest, shelf talkers – also known as shelf wobblers and shelf barkers – are a printed card, with our without lamination, attached to a fixture using an acetate strip with self-adhesive pads at each end.

There are a few different fixing options available depending on the intended purpose and location of your shelf talkers (see below). If none of the options below meet your needs, please get in touch and we will do our best to come up with a solution that fits your requirements exactly.

Shelf talker sizes and shapes

The simplest shelf talkers are square or rectangular, usually 100 × 100mm up to 200mm ×150mm in size. Rectangles larger than this are of course possible, but they are rarely used since they have a tendency to obstruct access to the products on the fixture.

We can also die-cut the printed faces of shelf talkers to produce circles, ovals, or indeed complex shapes. Specific shapes require the manufacture of a cutting die, which is charged at cost, and then used to cut out your printed design. The cost of the cutting die is based on the intricacy of your shape; please feel free to email us your design and we will be happy to provide a quote for the die-cutting.

Using shelf talkers

Usually we supply shelf talkers as printed faces with loose acetate strips, ready to be assembled at the point of use. The strips are 150mm (6") long and have a foam adhesive pad at each end. One end of the strip is attached to the printed face and the other to the shelf or fixture.

Please note that the pads have a permanent adhesive and are not intended to be re-used once removed from the shelf. If your shelves have a data strip attached (as used in supermarkets) then the data strip fixing will allow talkers to be used again and again.

Alternate fixings

We can supply the following types of fixings to suit different requirements. These are priced on top of the wobblers and we can mix different fixing types within the same order if required.

200mm strips are suitable for larger sized talkers which need more support

Data strip attachments fit behind the plastic data strip without the use of adhesive

Spring fixings are useful where space is limited and a regular acetate fixing might cause an obstruction

Aluminium strips allow the printed face to be displayed at any angle

Turnaround time
